The Montravel vines stand proud in the land of the humanist philosopher Michel Eyquem de Montaigne. With 3 appellations (Montravel, Côtes de Montravel, Haut-Montravel) and 4 colours (red, dry white, sweet and dessert), Montravel captures its terroir’s earthy freshness and finess. This little-known but classic appellation lies south-west of Bergerac, aligned with the Monbazillac hillsides. Saussignac is crafted by 15 or so mainly organic producers. The bountiful vines produce outstanding sweet wine to life. Saussignac stands out for its full and rich flavour alongside its incredible balance of sugar and acidity.
