With over 2000 years of history and AOP wines that have celebrated 80 years of excellence, the Bergerac & Duras vineyard stands out for its sheer variety and premium wine to suit any occasion.
Monbazillac
Monbazillac is the most emblematic sweet wine appellation in the world. Monbazillac grapes are picked in stages to produce a very smooth sweet wine whose golden hue turns amber with age.
Montravel
CÔTES DE MONTRAVEL / HAUT-MONTRAVEL
The Montravel vines stand proud in the land of the humanist philosopher Michel Eyquem de Montaigne. With 3 appellations (Montravel, Côtes de Montravel, Haut-Montravel) and 4 colours (red, dry white, sweet and dessert), Montravel captures its terroir’s earthy freshness and finess. As Montaigne said, ‘We do not drink, we kiss the glass, and wine gives us a caress’.
Saussignac
This little-known but classic appellation lies south-west of Bergerac, aligned with the Monbazillac hillsides. Saussignac is crafted by 15 or so mainly organic producers. The bountiful vines produce outstanding sweet wine to life. Saussignac stands out for its full and rich flavour alongside its incredible balance of sugar and acidity.
CÔTES DE DURAS
Renowned figures such as Pope Clement V. and the Kings of England who reigned over the region for 300 years, have forged the reputation of Duras wines. The landscape alternates between valleys, vineyards, woodlands and plum tree orchards.
Bergerac
CÔTES DE BERGERAC
Ausonius a Roman consul, poet and wine lover already celebrated the excellence and singularity of our land’s nectars. Vintages born on the banks of the Dordogne in 100AD. The civilisations that shaped Bergerac over the centuries each left their mark and made Bergerac wine what it is today.
ROSETTE
An outstanding terroir of south-facing light and acidic sandy soil produces golden and fruity grapes picked when ripe to elaborate low-sugar sweet wines bursting with freshness, fruity flavours, and floral aromas.
Pécharmant
Deep, dark red wines originate from this contemplative hill on the edge of Bergerac. Pécharmant wines are powerful, elegant and full-bodied with a rich mouthfeel.
